The voices of victims of crime need to be heard more. Anything that we do to help them must contribute to making their difficult experience better, less complicated, and without worry.
With the work I have undertaken assisting those caught up in modern day slavery and child sexual exploitation, I know that putting the survivors at the centre of policy, is crucial. First and foremost, this involves a better awareness by all involved, to improve understanding, attitudes and services available.
As your Police and Crime Commissioner I will ensure all officers receive such training.
