Keeping the money you pay for the Police fair and reasonable.

The Police receive just 10 pence in every pound of council tax you pay.

Just under 80 pence in every pound goes to Hertfordshire County Council to pay for services such as schools, adult social care and roads maintenance. Around 10 pence in every pound goes to your local district or borough council to provide services including waste collection and recycling, environmental health, along with parks and open spaces. And parish and town councils receive 2 pence in every pound.

That means the average home in Hertfordshire pays around £4 a week for its Police - just over 50 pence a day to keep our streets safe and residents protected.

Be assured that as your Police Commissioner I will ensure every penny of your tax is accounted for and open to public scrutiny. And I will never ask residents to pay more than is absolutely required to keep Hertfordshire, our towns and communities as safe as they can be.
